Audacity workshop

(sincere thanks to the FADOQ for the kind use of their computer lab and equipment)

Week #1: Become a DJ! Create your own audio mixes.

Download audio tracks and sound effects from the Web (some appropriate websites will be mentioned). Save all files to the computer. Import the files into Audacity. Manipulate the audio tracks (cut, copy, paste, select, edit, etc.) and save the final result as an mp3 or wav file.

Bring in audio files and recordings for next week’s workshop.

Week #2: Now for Web Radio! Each story has its atmosphere, its narration.

Choose audio and sound effects for a radio documentary.

Gather audio tracks on the Web for certain sound effects. Use a digital recorder to record all text for your audio project.

Think about next week’s story and about the audio which will enhance its telling.

Week #3: A story to tell! Perfecting ones art.

Use a wide range of frequencies for refreshing radio shows!

Learn to make subtle adjustments and fades for better transitions between audio segments.

We will continue to explore the Audacity menus, and other sound effects and audio manipulations, while working on a personal project about some local story.
